Hello - it's been quiet here lately, but Engage is still my go-to rules for ST-style gaming, I've statted up my main fleets (UFP, Klingons, Romulans, Gorn) but I was wondering if some of the plans for expansion discussed on other threads were still in any sort of development? E.g. starbases, some other tech or racial traits?

Thanks for the post, that's brilliant to hear!
We have done a lot of work on expanding Engage [list included below] but haven't got round to completing a Publish ready version.

But, what we have [in a playtest version] I'll get posted up over the weekend!

Hi Ben,

That's great to hear, I'm looking forward to seeing that supplement; I know on The Miniatures Page there's a few folks who've also chosen Engage for their ST gaming, so this will go over well there too.

I think the starbases, bigger ships (I upscaled on my own to match my ships), civilian ships, and primitive lasers/missiles (as well as other older and newer tech in general) match my own interests the most, but I'd be interested in seeing it all eventually when ready. My own stuff is classic TOS and movie era, but I have a few ships that edge towards the missing Enterprise-C era and a bunch of primitive ones that tend to show up in the midst of space randomly, as per the show.

Had a look over it Ben, it looks good, there's a fair bit I'd use for my ST (TOS/TOM era, maybe into the Enterprise-C era) gaming. No real questions, other than in your original list here starbases were mentioned, but so far the rules just have orbital defence platforms, are the starbase rules still being developed? I.e. something with 20+ hull points.

I went back to refresh myself on the original rules too, and was reminded that one thing that was missing were the conversion costs to downgrade torpedoes to missiles - all the upgrades are there, but not the one downgrade, if that could be added into the expansion please.

One other question I had after my re-read, which I hadn't had come up before, is does shield damage on shields with auxiliary power added (p.16 of the rules) lose the aux. power permanently, as it does for systems with aux. power (p.17)?

Anyway, looking forward to seeing the finished product, I may use the draft to detail out some of my larger ships that had been crammed into the existing ship templates, but I can now properly call battleships and dreadnoughts!

One further thought after the weekend - I like the new damage table, giving more options for bad things to happen, but maybe, to keep it still a bit focused on shields, remove the hull hit result (which can come from other ways), to something like 1-2 = Shields, 3 = Impulse Engines, 4 = Warp Engines, 5 = Sensors, 6 = Weapon (highest power level etc.).
